A Momentus Day

Well, what a lovely day was had by all on Sunday.
First, Calliope slept through the night -- that is 8pm-6:30am -- for the first time in her whole entire life. Holy smokes!!! Of course we were up until past midnight doing our own stuff, but whatever. We have been trying to get her to sleep ever since we got back from the holidays, where it takes most babies three nights. We even asked the pediatrician about it. She said we're "doing everything right, some babies are just more tenacious than others". Anyway she hasn't slept through the night since, but seems like the right direction. Then we had the Scotts and the Dignums over for a post-birthday brunch, where I managed my first mille crêpes, which along with a pot of coffee (or glass of champagne) is just wonderful. Finally, after naps, we went sledding in the back yard. It's been so cold here that the snow is just like fine sand -- it won't pack at all. So all four of us went out with the sleds and Ryan's snowboard. We've finally gathered appropriate cold-weather clothes for Clementine (although we had to mail-order her boots as there were literally no boots her size in all of Durango) so she wasn't cold and we had a GREAT TIME! By my accounting, this is the first time we've all four had fun together. One of us is always cold, bored, tired, hungry, wants to do something else, etc. etc. But somehow it all came together and it wasn't too windy, the snow wasn't hard or wet, and it was a blast. I need to figure out how to make more of that happen!
Finally, today it's official, I'm leaving The Magellan Network to do some freelancing. I'll be doing some of it for them and some of it for other folks. I'm terrified, and thrilled. Hey, anybody need a freelance... uh... what do I do again?
